The MU family is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Ellis Library. Throughout the past 100 years, generations of students, thousands of faculty members and countless visitors have walked through the doors of this magnificent structure to experience the wonder and the inspiration of the greatest ideas of humankind.

In the heart of campus and at the center of learning, the MU Libraries are vital to the spirit and life of this great university. A donation to the MU Libraries is an ideal way to support all of Mizzou’s schools, colleges and programs with a single gift. The quality of scholarly resources provided by our library system directly impacts every measure of student and faculty recruitment, retention and achievement.

Director of Advancement

The MU Libraries seek to increase endowed support for collections, programs, and senior staff positions. An unrestricted endowment also is being created as part of the Ellis Library Centennial celebration. This new endowment, called the MU Libraries Centennial Fund, will provide flexible funding for the director of libraries to address funding priorities as they arise.

Building Enhancements

Keeping pace with advancements in information science and providing adequate study space for a growing student body will require further improvements to our facilities. With the help of alumni and friends, the J. Otto Lottes Health Sciences Library and Ellis Library will both be the focus of major renovations.
